Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of “Trend Tuesday” here on my blog! This series incorporates fashion and makeup trends that are picking up serious steam during the season. We are swiftly approaching summer and now that the weather is cooperating with outdoor activities and days in the sun, it’s all about the comfortable shoe. What better way to go out in the sun than in a stylish, yet extremely comfortable pair of lace-up flats!

If you haven’t noticed yet this trend is rapidly spreading all throughout social media and I want to show you a few simple ways you can take this trend and style it with your own unique elements. Every modern-day ballerina needs her go-to shoe and this season they seem to be the lace-up flats. This style is not only stealing the hearts of fashionistas and bloggers alike, but also many footwear designers are jumping in on the fashion trend wagon, including UGG Australia, Tory Burch, and Zara. Whether you are planning on stepping out to your next summer pool party or going into the city, I have got you covered on ways to style these summer must-haves. Here are my top ways to style lace-up flats and what the designers are saying about this trend.

Style #1: The Sporty Vibe

For my featured look today I decided to go with a casual sporty vibe to go with these romantic soft, yet colorful Tory Burch lace-up flats. This look is perfect for everyday or a summer time activity like a pool party or just going out with friends. I love pairing flats with shorts and casual wear because I feel it really makes the shoes stand out. You can never go wrong with a neutral, simple boyfriend Tee for casual looks. I also decided to make the look pop a bit more by pairing the shirt with a pair of printed shorts, which are also very on trend at the moment. Comment below with your thoughts on this look.

Style #2: The Romanic Vibe

Nothing says romance more than paring a lovely pair of lace-up flats with a lace top and skinny high wasted jeans. To keep the look neutral I would pair a white lace sweater or crop top with a pair of high-wasted skinny jeans in a black wash. The black jeans contrast the softness of the top with an edgy vibe, yet still warm and soft with the contrasting lace of the top. You could also pair the flats with an all black look. Using a black lace top instead of white and adding a chic black blazer for that extra look of drama.

Style #3: The Nautical Vibe

When you think lace-up flats the last thought you would have is to pair them with a nautical themed look, but trust me this works. Pick out a stripped colorful top, sticking with a red, white, or blue striped color palette. Then add some loose fitting boyfriend light wash jeans, and a nice light pea coat in blue or a denim jacket with gold buttons and you got yourself a nautical themed look with lace-up flats. It’s that simple. This look would be perfect for a casual business lunch or just a country club brunch with family.

The last style tip I have is pairing boho elements with these boho inspired flats from Zara. Boho is just a fancy way of describing a relaxed fit style. I like to go with dresses and loose fitting dress shirts for this look. You can also easily pair these flats with a denim shirt-dress or off-the-shoulder denim dress, which are also very in this season. Paired with these flats it will give you a fancy yet confortable look. You can also use textiles and fabrics with crochet detailing to add a festive flare to the romantic and soft elements of the lace-up flats. This look would be perfect for a nice date night.
