Good morning everyone! By now you have probably seen the
countless of press kits and releases from bloggers and YouTubers alike concerning
the newly released (on the Urban Decay’sWebsite NOW) Vice Lipstick collection. I was fortunate enough to have attended a Sephora VIB event this past weekend in
which I got the opportunity to see these new babies live and in living color.
After swatching what felt like at least 50 of the 120 shades I managed to pick
up one color. To be honest they didn’t have the whole collection out yet and I
really had my heart set on some of the other colors in the line, so I figured I
would wait for the collection to release on the UD website (June 6th).
Now the day has come and everyone can head on over to select their favorite
colors.
If you are a veteran to my blog you know on Wednesdays I
like to do a little series called the “WednesdayWishlist” in which I disclose makeup and fashion items I am currently
obsessed with and what is currently on my wishlist regarding that particular
category. Well this week I have to give it to Urban Decay for once again
leaving me lusting and penniless wanting to purchase their entire Vice lipstick
collection. The title of these lipsticks couldn’t hold more truth for me. When
it comes to makeup items my most favorite product are lipsticks! I am
completely obsessed!
Like I said before after swatching a good bit of colors and
inspecting the various formulations of this line, I narrowed it down to one
very beautiful medium deep peachy brown shade in the color “Carnal”, which I
believe will be one of the 20 shades exclusive to Sephora. Be advised all the
shades including the exclusives will be available on the Sephora website June
16th, but not all the shades will be available in store. So if there
is a color you are really lusting over, make sure to grab it online when they
release. Be sure to sign up for their reminder emails here, so you will be notified when they are available online on the
Sephora website. So now lets get into a little bit more detail about these
wonderful lipsticks.
To recap there will be 120 shades available of the Urban
Decay Vice Lipsticks and they retail for $17.00 for 0.11oz, a standard amount
across most brands of product. They come in six finishes ranging from mega
matte, comfort matte, sheer, cream, metalized and sheer shimmer. For reference
my most favorite of the formulas are the comfort mattes, these dry down matte
but feel extremely creamy on the lips and very pigmented, extremely similar to
the NARS audacious lipsticks. The mega mattes are your typical matte, rich
pigment, and dry formula, although these do not tighten on your lips, they just
appear dryer in finish if that makes any sense. The sheer formulas were my least
favorite as they really only dab a flush of color on the lips and appear more
as glosses and balms than anything else. The metalized colors are amaze balls;
they look glittery and metallic without leaving your lips looking like you have
a chunk of glitter all over.
Lastly, if you where on the fence about these treasures,
don’t be! I suggest you think about which finish suits your collection and
lifestyle best and go for it. If you would like to see swatches and all colors

highlighting the ones that have made my wishlist and will be getting mailed to
me very shortly!
For my featured look I wanted to highlight the orangey nature
of the tone of the color I chose. This color is a Sephora exclusive and is
called Carnal (comfort matte finish). A very different spin on your regular
nude color, this lipstick is a gorgeous deep brown peachy nude, and extremely comfortable
to wear, with its warm undertones it could potentially be worn with many
different eye looks.
