Wednesday Wishlist: Father’s Day Gift Guide

Wow the year sure is flying fast isn’t it? It seems like only yesterday was May and we were celebrating mom’s special day. Well, we cannot forget the other important half that means the world to us, our fathers! I hope that you all are able to celebrate the big day, June 18th in case you didn’t already know, with the man who has stood by you, protected you, loved you, and treated you like a princess/prince, your dad. Unfortunately for me, I will not be able to spend the big day with my dad, as we currently live in two different states, but I make an effort to always chat with him and visit when I can. I am still on the fence at the moment on what to get him on his big day, so maybe we will discover something together.  Here are some of my tips and gift ideas for the special man in your life. No matter if you are a spouse or child looking for something to get the father in your life a special gift this year, I got you covered. I will do my best to select ideas that will fit just about any dad. Be sure to comment below with your thoughts and some of your gift ideas for dad.

FOR THE TECH GEEK DAD:

We all know and love this dad in our families, the one who has to always get the latest and most advanced high tech gadget that just hit the market. Well for these dads I have some pretty awesome gift ideas. Lets start with the ever so popular, but still a go-to great gift idea for that techy dad, the Apple iPad!

Apple iPad Pro $599-799:
This ipad is more than the next generation of ipads; it’s an uncompromising vision of personal computing for the modern world, and man in your life. It puts the power of a PC right at your fingertips. I mean come on, what dad would not want this cool baby in their collection. It comes in two sizes and four colors. This gadget is perfect for the dad who does a lot of freelance and wants something portable that feels like a high tech graphic design tool with the functionality of a regular laptop all in one.

FitBit $60-130:
For the dads that love to stay active but love their electronics, the fitbit is the all-encompassing gift. It is a great motivator even for sedentary dads who don’t get out much. This baby tracks your every move and calculates your fitness level in minutes. These wrist-watch-helpers come in various sizes and models, so you are bound to find one that fits your dad’s personality the best. Go for a model with functions you know your dad will enjoy, they have one for every fitness level. Be sure to explain to your dad that they can also log on to the fitbit website and attain all their fitness profile calculations to keep track of their health, even if they are not looking to lose weight, it is still a great tool to monitor your fitness.

FOR THE MINIMALIST/SENTIMENTAL DAD:

Great gifts for dads who don’t ask for much, are personalized and DIY gifts you can do yourself or with your kids. Head on over to pinterest now for some incredible dad gift ideas and learn how to make unique and personalized treasures for the special man in your life. One of my favorites is taking something dad already loves and adding some special touches. For example, my boyfriend’s father loves watches, I would secretly take one and have it engraved on the back with a special father’s day saying. Likewise you can take a box, decorate it with words and sayings that remind you of your dad, and fill it with picture memories of your family. This way dad will always have a secret chest of wonderful family memories to treasure and take with him wherever he goes. This is an especially thoughtful and creative gift for the dad who travels a lot.

FOR THE PRACTICAL DAD:

Don’t knock it, but like the minimalist dad, this dad loves things that are functional and not too fussy. Clothing is never a bad gift for your special dad. You can even get creative with it. Try to pay attention to what dad needs most. Maybe he works on his feet a lot and all his socks have got holes in them, a nice bundle of brand new Nike socks would do him just fine. Maybe he works in finance and needs nice clean dress shirts, pick out some of his favorite colors and run with that.

I know plenty of dads that love to spoil themselves from time to time and enjoy the accomplishment of buying luxury items. I have some ideas for you guys that will satisfy your dad’s taste without breaking the bank.

Gucci Card Holder $195: This simple yet functional luxury piece is sure to win over any dad who loves the finer things in life. This small leather good is sure to get a lot of wear and use along with most likely becoming your dad’s most beloved luxury piece.

Hermes Tie $180: Ties are a businessman and father’s best friend! You can never go wrong with a functional luxury piece that wont break the bank. Ties are the perfect balance of chic and function for that dad who loves his brands.

FOR THE PAMPERED DAD:

Now finally but certainly not least, gift ideas for the dad who loves to get pampered and smell nice. Sephora is your go-to destination for this dad’s perfect gift. Simply go to the Sephora tab that says gifts and click the title “for him” section. There you will find a plethora of functional, chic, elegant, and amazingly smelling gifts for this dad. Not to mention some dads like to take care of themselves by using lotions and beauty products. Shower him with gifts from Sephora; you take your pick from colognes, to bath products, to scented musk smelling delights.
