FASHION | The Perfect Professional Savvy Wardrobe for any Climate

Hello my lovelies and TGIF! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and have some amazing plans coming up this weekend. I thought I would do something a bit different on the blog today and try to give you guys some styling tips for transitioning your work looks to match selective temperatures for both men and women. This all came about because one day I stood watching my handsome boyfriend get ready for his summer job and thought, “he would never wear that to work as a teacher.” You see my boyfriend is a History teacher for nine months out of the year and for the rest he works as a Camp Director; Two very different jobs in two very different environments. At school he has to dress professionally, tie and all, but at camp he is required to dress casually, comfortable, a shorts and Tee kind of gig.

This all got me thinking, what happens to his wardrobe choices when he is forced to wear button ups, ties, and slacks to work at his school during the summer? If only he could wear what he wears to his camp job. Of course we all know that in a professional setting this is impossible nor acceptable work attire. So here we have the dilemma, stylistically how do we prepare and chose clothing pieces that will help us breathe easy in the summer hot days, while also looking presentable and adequate for indoor chilly conditions at an office or classroom work environment.

Creating the Perfect Professional Savvy Wardrobe for any Environment:

For women achieving this goal could be as simple as using your layers. You want to wear this cute summer dress to work. No problem! Just add a comfortable jersey Blazer, or light fabric trench, http://twilightdelight.tumblr.com/post/146263184800/trend-tuesday-how-to-style-summer-hats some kitten flats, and wear stockings to help protect your arms and legs from the over chill of the AC while you are in your office all day. Then once you are outdoors, loose the blazer and you are off to picking up the kids from school or whatever fun outdoor activity you have planned.

Feel a dress might be too informal for your day job, no problem. A sporty blazer and slacks combo should do the trick. In thinking deeply about what makes a look comfortable in any whether or climate, I starting thinking a lot about fabrics. While jeans may be too informal for professional wear, they are also too thick in material making them more suitable for very cold climates.

Then I had to become even more creative in thinking of ways men could get away with essential pieces that will be cool enough for the summer, but still keep them nice and warm at the office. For men it’s a bit harder because it isn’t always about layering pieces for them. So what does that leave? If you guessed underwear, undershirts and socks, you got it!! Rummaging through my boyfriend’s under garments I realized he has underwear and undershirts made of different fabrics used for various utilities.

After realizing the key to the problem was not layers, but fabric types I thought about one particular men’s underwear and garment clothing brand for men, Tommy John. https://www.instagram.com/tommyjohnwear/ Little disclaimer for you guys, I am not being sponsored nor are they paying me to say this, but I was contacted by them which inspired me to write this piece. For all the men out there who struggle with styling clothing that will help maintain them in varying climates during the summer, this one is for you! I also found some pieces in my boyfriends wardrobe he uses a loves from this brand. If you have never heard of, or are unfamiliar with this brand, be sure to give their site a look. These pieces also make excellent boyfriend or hubby gifts for all occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, etc. So if you want to learn more then just keep reading.

Tommy Johns uses the technology of fabrics to aid in the struggle all men and women have when transitioning summer pieces and making them suitable for an office work environment. Underwear and undershirts not only aid men in layering to help them keep warm under the AC weather, but they can be made of breathable materials to keep them cool as well. Cotton fabric is your friend in this occasion. Cotton is breathable while keeping moisture at bay and less sweaty. Every man’s dream right? Check out the Tommy John cotton collection here. https://www.tommyjohn.com/underwear/fabric/cool

Stretch and light fabrics can be used for men who are always on the go at their jobs, or just that guy who likes to stay active. Tommy John has a wonderful line of garments that were designed for movement and extreme comfort ability. They absorb sweat quickly and help keep you dry all day long. This same technology and thought can be applied to both men and women. Ladies you can take a good look at undies and make sure you are strutting fabrics that help you breathe, if you catch my drift.

It doesn’t end there. One garment piece most people never think can be essential to helping you feel cool are socks! Yup, socks. When socks are made of wool, they are thick, make you sweat and feel like you are wearing two pairs of shoes instead of one. Tommy John has a line of breathable socks that helps you prevent moisture buildup and help your feet breath in any shoe. My boyfriend loves the performance dress sock, for work and during the summer days. He says not only are they comfortable but they keep his feet dry and sometimes feel like he isn’t even wearing socks.

The theory applies to clothing garments as well. Don’t want to wear that thick cotton blouse/dress shirt, try substituting a chiffon blouse/thinner fabric dress shirt and wearing a strappy light fabric tank underneath or men a lightweight undershirt. This will give you breathability in the sun, while also keeping you toasty at work.

I hope these style tips have inspired you to play with your undies! Undergarments for men and women can be the key to aiding you in feeling more comfortable during the summer days at work.
